We ordered the 5x3 mtr lean to gazebo, so not a small structure! The delivery was excellent, they kept us informed of delivery time, so we were prepared, they had waterproof cover for everything, so it was not left out in the elements. Thoughtfulness throughout. Everything was good quality, clear instructions. My husband is 76, and not a builder, rather he was an engineer, so this was a big job to tackle on his own. The only time he asked for help was to lift the front, so he could attach the beams to the wall mounting, it took four men to lift and hold the front upright, whilst he fixed the beams. Apart from that he did everything himself, making sure at all times everything was square and level. He did a fantastic job! I am beyond pleased with the result. It took him 9 days to build, and put the roofing tiles on, and then we had to wait as he ordered the lead etc which was the very last task. A point to note , everything you need to build the gazebo is there, apart from the lead, filler, wall bolts and patio fixing bolts. The hard wear that is with the gazebo kit, is counted so exactly the right amount is there, no extras, so be careful, dont loose, or misplace anything! We have ended up with an amazing gazebo, so much usable space now to eat outside, sit and relax, we absolutely love it, and have had so many compliments from friends and neighbours! Brilliant company to deal with. Also their pergola kits are spot on. Absolutely no sawing or planing required as everything comes drilled and cut to size. I ordered and received my pergola in a very good condition and on time. The assembly took me a few days to erect, mainly because I am a pensioner, but was a pleasure to be able to follow well laid out plans. Everything went well and the final product looks great. Took 2 days but 3-4 people, need to make sure you level and check diagonals at all times (luckily my dad knew these things) hardest part and time consuming part is the roof shingles instillation, someone needs to not be afraid of heights and on sit on the roof. My parking space is surrounded by fence on three sides and sits under an apple tree. After experiencing one round of severe hail damage and suffering through another fall of my car being pelted by apples, I began the quest for a carport and landed on this Sunjoy model. I couldn't be happier. At 20 feet long, it covers my entire Q7, and the width was perfect for my parking space. I can definitely open the car doors on both sides, and parking between the posts is no problem. Speaking of posts, our handyman built concrete bases for the posts because of the slope of the space. One other thing to know: in the blueprint on page 4, the distance from post to post is actually 227 inches (not 229.13 as stated in the book.) Once you have a good level foundation, putting the gazebo together is easy and the instructions are very clear. I also found one YouTube video of the build, which helped visualize everything and made it even easier. There were only a couple hiccups — a couple of the screws had messed up tips and would not go into the wood. We found the same type of screw at a hardware store. And the biggest issue was that one of the metal parts was not drilled all the way, they forgot one hole on one side. We did our best to drill through the metal but ultimately left it without one bolt. I think it will be fine. It’s not the sturdiest gazebo ever (the wood is very light), but it works perfectly in our space. Put together over two days, two people.
