This garden side awning, featuring a large screen, presents an effective way to deal with a constant wind and low-lying sun, while providing privacy. The simple yet stylish design makes it an ideal complement for your garden, patio, balcony, etc. The privacy screen has an automatic roll-back function and the width is adjustable to up to 1200 cm. The outdoor screen is made of UV-proof, tear-resistant and water-resistant polyester fabric with a PU coating.
This could be so much better with some additional improvements.
First of all, the two end fabric poles would not attach as the connector piece does not allow for the rivets on the handles. This essentially stops you proceeding, unless you are willing to 'adapt'.
Secondly, the tension on one of the main retractable poles was insufficient. So that resulted in disassembly and retensioning.
Thirdly, the base plate fixings are not fit for purpose. Not only is there no information on the sizing, but they do not work well with the holes in the baseplate. I would suggest to buy through bolts from a local DIY shop. I would also ignore the piece in the instructions where you fix the baseplate to the assembly first and then drill holes. Instead, use the plate as a template, then drill, then fix with your (new and safer) fixings.
