Super sturdy and well made (almost black, but lovely bronze hue also in the furniture). Yes a lot of assembly, the table was difficult as nothing lined up!! I've been building furniture for the past 38yrs. So am able to find a way around things, but it all honesty, the majority of the public will struggle. It was difficult bending the metal into position, will it last? Heaven knows.
