Summoning the rich history of Greek culture, this early Hellenistic helmet is a functional work of art. Skilled artisans have fashioned this artifact in quality designer resin with a distinctive faux-bronze finish.

Absolutely fantastic! Great looking sculpture a lot heavier then I was expecting. Looks fantastic and is very well made. My only wish is that you could screw the helmet down to the stand instead of just placing it on top so my child doesn’t put it on and taunt me by shouting “THIS IS SPARTA” Other then that I’m extremely happy it’s probably the coolest thing I’ve purchased off this site for my house.. Holding her legendary sacred snakes, this revered goddess has been credited as healer, messenger and priestess of retribution. An exact replica of the historic statue unearthed in Knossos, Crete at the turn of the last century, museum-quality designer resin work is hand-painted with an ancient patina that echoes the distinctive ceramic original.

Probably the most famous figurine in Minoan art, the original was found in Knossos, Crete by renowned British archaeologist Arthur Evans in 1903. The goddess stands with extended arms and forearms flexed upwards, each hand holding a snake. Dressed elegantly, her skirt covers her legs and her ample hips are accentuated by a narrow waist. The blouse opens above the waist, and like all Minoan female figures the round breasts are proudly displayed. Find the original, see the faded colors and compare it to this replica. The enhanced expression in this replica with wide-open eyes and a soft but enigmatic smile will make you glad you discovered it. However, there is a detail missing, in this otherwise marvelous work. The original has a feline figure on top of her hat, and that’s nowhere to be found here. The original is 13 ½ inches tall and the replica is 10 ½ inches tall, pretty close to actual size, and that’s remarkable, even without the feline. By the way, the price is unbeatable.. Ancientfan1.
