The gnomon is set for latitudes around 50 Degrees north, so will be most accurate in the south of England, northern Europe, Canada and so on. At these latitudes, this is a functioning time indicator (in as much as sundials ever were!).

Modeled on the standard twin-lever pedestal Telegraph, invented to enable a ship's bridge to communicate with the engine room, this desktop replica pays tribute to the ingenuity of steam and marine engineers.

An antique-effect solid brass telescope, bound in leather and presented in a wooden box. It's four draws extend to 15" with 6x magnification and a good-quality 25mm object lens. The box measures 7x2. 5".

Pocket watches were once the only option, but to wear one today lends the gentleman owner a most distinctive air. This one, with its aged-effect dial and solid brass case, looks like a 19th-century antique, but - unlike the originals - won't break the bank. Named in honour of the famous naturalist and explorer, this handy set combines a magnifier, brass telescope (2.5x mag), and compass, in a handsome glass-topped case measuring 17x12cm.

Our Titanic Whistle has been specially engraved to commemorate the 100 Years since the tragic event back in when Titanic sank - losing over 1500 lives. Authentic replica of the whistle used by Titanic's First Mate, as used so dramatically in the film to facilitate Kate Winslet's rescue. British-made by Acme, who supplied the White Star Line in, using the original tooling. Certificate of authenticity enclosed.

Vernier sextants were, in skilled hands, instruments of great accuracy, practicality and beauty - a joy to own and use, but also essential to the safety of the ship. This replica is dedicated to Royal Navy Captain John Campbell, who developed the instrument in 1757. Crucially his invention appeared at about the same time as the first accurate, portable chronometers - and the combination of the two transformed navigation from guesswork to science, saving countless lives at sea. This importance gave rise to the air of mystique which surrounds the instrument and its use, even in today's age of electronic wizardry. Detailing is impressive, with hardwood handle and protective box, six shades of varying intensity, and a powerful telescope. Instrument measure 20 cm x 16 cm. Box 23 cm square. Please note: The Campbell sextant has fully functioning parts but is not intended for serious use.

Boldly sculptured in polished brass, their counter-stern, sloop-rigged yachts make stunning ornaments. The subtle curves of the sails pick up light and reflections from surrounding objects to make constantly changing patterns. For this to be possible, The gnomon, which casts the shadow, can be set for latitude on a sliding scale and the whole instrument oriented for direction by means of a magnetic compass in the base. Height adjustable legs ensure that the instrument is used upright.

Churchill's famous tribute to RAF fighter command is inscribed on the plaque - the finishing touch to this emotive piece of sculpture. This short-draw telescope is well balanced making it light and easy to use. Its 2.5x magnification makes it great for quick enlargement of things relatively close by, such as ships in a harbor, rather than high magnification, long-distance work where a much longer, and thus heavier telescope would be required. Solid brass leather-bound telescope presented in a polished wooden box with brass inlay corners and anchor motif. Telescope extends to 7", box measures 5x2.5".

Magnifying 2.5 times, it's ideal for reading charts or small print documents. Solid brass frame and legs. The weight of the glass dome means it also makes an excellent paperweight.
