Brighton 44 is a spacious and bright summer house, which is well suited for a home office, a place to spend leisure time with friends and family, or just as a summer house. The L-shaped space solution and the small terrace with a canopy and a tasteful lattice wall are both personal and practical. Double-glazed and sealed windows and doors with large glass surfaces are a great choice for our climate, allowing you to prolong the summer in the cold and also giving you a chance to stay in the garden in rainy weather. The house set includes all the necessary parts for installation: impregnated base frame, wall details, floorboards and skirting boards, roof beams/boards, and moldings but also hardware (handles/nails/screws). The house set does not include any roofing materials but shingles and roofing felt can be purchased extra. If you prefer a model with a similar layout but with a modern flat roof, we recommend a slightly larger Orkney as an alternative to the Brighton 44.

I purchased this as we had an inset woodburner installed last year and, because (our existing outbuilding was already full of other clutter - yeah, I know, how does that happen?) we needed additional space to store fuel to see us through the colder months. This was delivered considerately by a decent chap, he even made sure it was placed somewhere easy for me to unpack yet away from prying eyes. I decided to give it a coat of garden paint in advance, then assembled it a day later. Took me an afternoon to do this but very simple, instructions are a doddle, and everything you need is there. Helps if you have someone to lend a hand to get the panels secured upright but can be done on your Todd if you are savvy enough. Just make sure you construct on a firm flat surface and face it so the back is to the prevailing wind. We managed to fit 1.8 cubic metres of kiln dried split logs inside with room to spare and it showed no signs of stress on the structure. I fitted waterproof groundsheet to cover the front against any driving rain (roll up/drop down wrapped around a garden stake) and moisture getting into the wood.
