The packaging was fantastic and instructions were simple to understand. I assembled the dome by myself but found that, unless you have a deep socket you will need a ring spanner or adjustable. I purchased some tube end caps as they are not supplied, I didn’t want little fingers getting into the cavity. The cavity was also filling with rain water and not draining out. Dried and a spray of WD then capped should prolong the life of the nuts and bolts. See photos and it finishes the dome. You will need 25mm caps and I paid £4.18 for 20 but you only need 16. I ended up purchasing the 11x7 Poppy greenhouse over the Memorial Day weekend, after reading a multitude of reviews. Based on those reviews I decided to give Backyard Discovery a chance. From delivery to final build I could not have been happier with the experience. As a DIYer, this was in my wheelhouse. What was most impressive was the build instructions, which were complimented by the online 3D app. The inventory list for each box was invaluable in saving time from having to look for the multitude of parts and hardware. To make the build easier, I set up a 6ft table in my garage and placed all of the hardware in plastic containers which were arranged numerically. This preparation will save an enormous amount of time searching for specific hardware. The quality of the cedar was very good, solid, and consistent. Throughout the build, the instructions actually had notes, in red, that were important “lookouts” so as not to make an error with regards to specific part orientation or sequence. As I worked my way through the build, the more impressed I became with the instructions and how I could tell that the folks responsible for the instructions were truly hands-on common sense engineers. My hat off to the company for their efforts in making these projects enjoyable along with providing a wonderful finished product…that appears to last. As with any quality build, if you do not ensure that the pad is level and the sidewalls are not square and level, you will not have an enjoyable experience. A very popular playhouse for many years, the Pixie continues to be a firm favourite with both children and adults. It is a lovely design with a glazed front and a pretty roof canopy so that it is not an eyesore in your garden! What a gorgeous den! It is made from high-grade, FSC-approved, Northern European pine shiplap boards over sturdy 34mm framing. The joinery made opening windows and glazed doors are all mortice and tenon jointed so are storm resistant. The Pixie complies with BS EN 71 the safety standard and carries the CE mark so features acrylic glazing and a full-length hinge. The playhouse is finished in a honey brown base coat treatment ready for painting or staining after installation. The painted model shown is for illustration only. All fixings, roof felt and assembly instructions are provided. Before you assemble your building, you will need a base that is flat and level to a sufficient size. Grass, soil, or gravel are not sufficient as they will move with the weight of a building.
