Not gold as in the picture, more brown. I am quite disappointed about that. I really like it when its off. When its on, its quite nice but looks old fashioned because its brown. The instructions were a bit contradictoryincorrect and some of the pieces were a bit wonky so we couldnt hang it completely aligned and symmetrical, but we werent too bothered about that because you wouldnt really notice..
