I bought this cage for my hammie, and we both absolutely love it! I decided to attach the bottom tray permanently with spare screws that came in the pack, as I didn’t require the pullout tray, although it would be handy for animals that don’t require such thick bedding. I sealed the interior and painted the outside with non toxic animal friendly paint/sealant, the wood was so easy to coat, not to mention to put it together, so quick and simple! The wooden platforms slot into place and are easy to remove in order to clean the cage (no screws) but still secure enough. The Perspex screens are covered initially to prevent any scratches, which was really handy to leave on while I painted it. The item itself is packed very well and carefully. Love this cage. It’s perfect size for my two pet rats. It has plenty of space for them and very easy to clean as it has doors that fully open on both sides.
