The Dhaka rug is named for the district in West Bengal where jute is farmed. This sustainable vegetable fibre is sometimes referred to as golden fibre and you can see why! Jute comes from one of the fastest-growing plant types and its long, strong fibres make it ideal for weaving. Many of our eco-friendly ranges use jute but, in the Dhaka range, it has been woven with braided detail.

Gyan means 'alive' and these rugs definitely bring life to your room! Our Gyan range was inspired by a single sample of an old-fashioned frilled rag rug. When placed in our shop in Scotland, it attracted much comment from our older customers who remembered making similar articles in their younger days. We love the lively feel of these rugs but we also love the obvious message about the need for society to recycle whenever possible.

We love this rug! I hadn't really appreciated it's 1 big piece of felt so a lovely handcrafted piece, soft and fairly light and nice and warm for my toddler to sit on. She loved it and ran straight to it grabbing a toy and sat down yelling "play!" so it gets the toddler thumbs up too! Probably because it is hand made, you can feel the product is genuine handmade(not immaculate as in the picture, though), however the colour to us it looks darker, stronger and deeper/thicker than our image of salmon colour.
