At the end of a long week, it’s important to spend some quality 'me time' in order to recharge. Bath Pillow

It's almost impossible to rest your head against a hard bathtub and still feel comfortable. Fix this problem with a bath pillow. Bath pillows provide support for the head, with some models also supporting the shoulders. Most bath pillows are attached via suction cups pressed against the wall of the bathtub or over the side of the tub – this placement gives you a space to lay your head and cushion your shoulders without the pillow slipping. Bath pillows are either made out of waterproof materials or come as machine-washable which helps to prevent mould or mildew. They're often filled with air, gel beads or a memory-foam-like gel.

Bath Rack

If you love to kick back with a book, snack or movie in the tub, try a bath rack. A bath rack is a long, flat tray that lays over the sides of your bathtub. You’ll never struggle to hold a book above the surface of the water or knock a bowl of treats off the side of the tub again. Many bath racks come equipped with a stand for a book or tablet as well as space for a coffee mug, candle or wine glass. Try creating an extra-relaxing setting with a glass of bubbles, small vase of flowers and a little snack bowl of nuts or even your favourite sweets.

Plastic Wine Glasses

Nothing makes a bath feel more luxurious than a good glass of wine. Although, glass might not be suitable for a slippery bathtub. Try plastic wine glasses instead and maintain a stylish look while avoiding any nasty accidents or breakage.

Candles

Most bathrooms come with a harsh overhead light that just isn't conducive to relaxation. Set the mood by turning off the main lights and placing candles on your bath rack or around the sides of your tub. Flickering candlelight and soothing scents will help you unwind – scents such as lavender, vanilla, jasmine and lemon are known for their relaxing qualities. For an extra fun touch, try surrounding yourself with LED floating candles in your tub.

If you'd like to avoid worrying about the flame from candles but still like a lovely scent, a scented oil diffuser may be the right option for you. An oil diffuser sends small, breathable particles of essential oil dispersed in water droplets into the air. Essential oils are great for aromatherapy and individual scents can target relaxation, anxiety & stress relief, cold relief and more. Pair LED candles for ambient lighting with oil diffusers for a relaxing scent – the ultimate combo.

Wall Shelves

Use wall shelves to give you a safe space to place more of your bathtime essentials. Keep soap, bath scrubs, candles and essential oils tucked safely away on the shelves. Your shelves will look like a decorative spa display when lined with all of your bath essentials as well as small accents like flowers or seashells. Look for a shelf with a towel bar to hang a small hand towel (to dry your hands before you turn the page of your book). If you have a tile wall next to your bath and don’t feel like drilling holes, try a suction-mounted shower caddy.

Bath Mat

Give yourself a comfy, nonslip place to step out of your tub with a stylish bath mat. You’ll minimise the risk of slipping and falling over and shelter your feet from the cold bathroom tiles. In a mostly neutral bathroom, a bath mat can serve as a fun pop of colour or print.

Underfloor Heating

If you’re prone to cold feet and a bath mat just isn't cutting it, consider underfloor heating. Underfloor heating is installed under the tiles in your bathroom to give you a warm place to step as you exit the bath, extending your luxurious relaxation. This heating system can also heat the room in place of a traditional radiator. If you don't have extensive home renovation experience, we recommend hiring an expert to install your underfloor heating system.

Shower Curtain

Shut out the rest of the world by surrounding your bathtub with a shower curtain. Curtains are great for a bathtub next to a window – your bath will be illuminated by natural light. If you share a bathroom, a curtain can also add an extra layer of privacy. Stick to a simple white curtain for a spa-like backdrop to your bath or add your own style by picking a pattern. Be careful using candles and a shower curtain together; keep candles on the side of the bath that isn't surrounded by the curtain or use LED candles. Use an enclosed curtain rod to surround your bathtub with the curtain.

Greenery

Adding natural elements to an indoor setting can reduce stress and aid relaxation. Try surrounding your bath with leafy, green plants for a calming effect, both artificial and live plants have the same calming effect. Try placing large potted plants on stands around the sides of your bathtub and install a shower curtain rod to hang planters up above. If you opt for wall shelves, line them with tiny succulents to surround yourself on all sides with plants.
