It is finished off with black metal fittings which give the item its distinctive Mexican styling and offers that warm rustic country charm. The item has hardboard backs and drawer bases, its delivered flat packed for easy home assembly with step-by-step instructions.

The overall look of the unit is good, though a little awkward on the sequence for construction with the drawer rails difficult to fit after putting the frame together. The worst part is actually the tolerances in construction, with 0.5 mm mis alignment in the frame. However, most of the drawers are badly made with only one fitting together without a problem. The others end up with excess wood sticking out and stopping the drawers from sliding in to the unit. Measurement shows up to 2mm difference in the recesses also some of the pre drilled holes for the drawer sides are not in line and the screws fail to go in the required direction, just catching the edge of the wood causing it to split. To complete building this will require remedial extra work to make the required adjustments. If you are not up to the required wood work please do not buy, you will just be frustrated by the result. Was expecting to have to get the candle wax on the runners - stiff or sticking runners have been my experience with flat-pack in the past - but not needed this time. Easy to follow instructions, solid construction. On that note, not light, so maybe a two person job for some.. F. Pendeen, GB. Wed Oct 19 2016

A fine-looking chest of drawers and every bit is wood. Capacity of drawers is excellent, deep and wide. Two issues, however. The dowel rods are flimsy. Three of them broke during assembly. Why not add a pound or two to the price and supply metal dowel rods? And the instructions are less than clear - they don't explain where the painted bits or the plain wooden bits should go! Some of us failed elementary woodwork at school. But would I buy another one? Affirmative!!. Roger. West Linton, GB. Fri Oct 14 2022

Perfect chest of drawers for our nursery, love the colour and the real wooden top to it. The instructions were pretty straightforward to follow, but some of the parts were labelled incorrectly. Which thankfully I did realise before we screwed it all together! Also, the real wooden top is good quality, however there is some slight discolouration to the wood in parts.. Jodie. Bristol, GB.
