It has an intentional distressed look to it so dont be surprised like one other reviewer who complained about the purposeful chipping of paint that gives it that distressed look (it always pays to pay close attention to what your purchasing before you purchase). Nice sturdy piece of furniture. Looks good. Only minor hiccups were the decorative panels around the bottom were warped slightly so screwing them in was tricky and the screws broke inside the wood.
