This table is absolutely beautiful the details are beautiful so pleased with buying it there was a little delay was thinking to myself I should have ordered it sooner but it arrived the next day . Manufactured from solid Teak Root, which has been reclaimed from the ground to encourage further sustainable plantation. The root coffee table is of substantial size but also carries it's elegance extremely well, you will never get tired of seeing this coffee table in your home. The glass that has been used is toughened safety glass that has rounded corners and a bevelled edge, we can assure you that the glass will not budge once put in place.

The Chinese would place low-level furniture such as tables with drawers on the side of the king platform in their homes to provide convenient storage and a useful work surface. This version is slightly higher and deeper than a normal Kang table to act as a more contemporary coffee table or low sideboard but still holds true to the simple, pure design ethos of the Chinese Ming period. The three drawers provide useful storage for magazines, CDs, or DVDs and open in both directions for easier access.

This is a tricky one to review. When the coffee table arrived it had a lot of damage. I was very disappointed. I rang wayfair and to their credit they delt with situation very quickly and Efficiently. I sent in some photos ( what was easy to do) and after a few conversations offered me a fair reduction of the price. The money was credited into my account the next day. The roots are excavated for the benefit of the fresh plantation, cultivating the land for further plantation, without the reclaiming of these huge teak roots the land would be abandoned, rendering it expensive and near impossible for further plantation. A lovely piece of art manufactured to create a fantastically stunning and sustainable product that will impress your guests over and over again.

To make this gorgeous table even more unique you can place a light in the block itself which will be truly atmospheric, it will impress your guests every time they visit for years to come. The glass we use is toughened safety glass that is 10mm thick with bevelled edges, which makes this glass top extremely heavy. It simply rests on top of the root and is supported very safely by the structure of the root base underneath.
