The Somerset Bed frame is made from solid Brazilian pine that has been reliably sourced. The simple slatted head-end and high foot-end create a lovely-looking bed frame. Kiln-dried solid pine slats make for a very sturdy bed. 4FT, 4FT6, and 5FT have a center support running from head to foot and also center feet. Do not buy. It is a terrible quality bed. I ended up taking the parts to the recycling centre after partially making it. It came with so many smaller pieces that did not align properly. The white laminate chips. The joins don’t line up. You are also expected to line up the internal wooden baton edging to hold the mattress on the outside frame yourself. I wasted £140 on this. Absolutely awful bed. I started with the headboard and didn't go any further. Dowel holes don't line up so it wasn't straight. Screw holes didn't line up so ended up splitting the wood. The timber itself is very flimsy and badly glued together. I would suggest the bed frame looked to be the same build quality and would be unlikely to hold any real weight without breaking.
