Wunderschönes Holz stabil verarbeitet, offensichtlich Handarbeit in rustikaler Ausführung. Einfacher Zusammenbau, wackelt nicht wenn man die von Hand angebrachte Nummerierung der Beine beachtet. Besonders gut gefällt mir die Tischplatte, die aus 2 Schichten querverleimten Holz besteht, wodurch sie sich weniger verzieht. Die Oberfläche fühlt sich leicht wellig an, aber im Normalbereich. Indien hat eben ein anderes Klima als mein Wohnzimmer und Holz "arbeitet". Die Oberflächenbearbeitung ist sehr enttäuschend. Es befinden sich Kratzer von grobem Schleifpapier an den Beinen. Diese entstehen, wenn die Faserrichtung des Holzes nicht beachtet wird. Die farblich gelungene Beize wurde dilettantisch aufgetragen, wodurch mehrfach Trocknungsränder, auch an der Kante der Tischplatte, entstanden sind. Auf meiner Tischplatte befinden sich außerdem helle Flecken an denen das Holz die Beize nicht aufnehmen konnte, wahrscheinlich abgewaschene Spritzer von dem Kleber, der für die Verleimung benutzt wurde. Weiter sieht man deutliche Pinselstriche von Nacharbeitungen. Der Lack wurde auch nicht sauber aufgetragen, es wimmelt nur so von "Nasen" an den Beinen, die zum Teil noch im Nachhinein abgeschliffen wurden. Das dürfte alles nicht sein und ein geübter Handwerker hätte keine Schwierigkeiten diese Qualitätsmängel zu vermeiden. Als Techniklehrerin sage ich, dass ich beim Thema Schleifen, Beizen und Lackieren schon deutlich bessere Ergebnisse bei 12-jährigen Schülern gesehen habe, wodurch ich jetzt ein ethisches Problem bekomme: war hier womöglich Kinderarbeit im Spiel? In der Hoffnung, dass dem nicht so sei, behalte ich den Möbel, denn er gefällt mir ohne Brille sehr gut und der Preis ist wohl unschlagbar günstig.
