Yes I was aware that it had to be assembled by me. I broke a piece of plastic which has affected the way that the lid hinge operates. I like the looks of it. Had it been assembled properly prior to being received by me it would have been worth the money. I just found it awkward to assemble. Lid hinge arrangement cheap and nasty. This thing is huge! We bought it to store all of our patio furniture cushions and pillows in to keep them out of the weather. And when I say huge I mean huge, it’s so big we are having a removable table top made to place on top of it so when we entertain on our patio we can use it as a table to serve food. Very sizable storage for outdoors. Not a perfect seal, but it gets very close! It survived a hurricane although it did get tossed around a bit. We sat it back up and it was good to go! The installation was tricky and the nails that are used for the handles seemed too small. It was very hard to get them threaded and they were just too short to make the handles feel connected well, that’s the only downside. Always looking for another deck box for storage of my cushions and pillows of my patio. This one was priced really well so I thought I would go for it. It wasn’t too hard to put together, but I did find that it is a bit on the light side so I will have to weight it down so that the wind doesn’t move it around over the winter. Because you cannot pile anything on top of it. I did find for easier assembly that the last rod needed to be connected in the middle rather than the corner pieces.
