3 Bundle Hammerite racking 5-tier racking offers a cost-effective way to organise your home or business. Versatile racking system: just the job for utility rooms, garages, warehouses, distribution centres, stockrooms, offices, workshops, retail stores and much more! Whether you're looking to store books, clothes or tools, this is the ideal solution. This highly versatile racking system lets you create a run of shelving side by side or back to back, allowing you to build a system which perfectly meets your individual requirements. The unit has an impressive load capacity of 175kg per shelf (evenly distributed). No nuts & bolts construction: another great feature of this fantastic racking is the speed at which you can construct the unit. Thanks to the intelligently designed rivet locking system, this bolt-free shelving system can be constructed quickly and easily using the 2 sets of bay connectors. No nuts, bolts or screws required! Simply tap together with the rubber mallet included to connect the bays. This also allows you to construct temporary solutions quickly, make alterations to the shelf heights, and transform the unit from shelving to a workbench or vice versa. It is recommended that to prolong the lifespan of the shelving, you treat any MDF surfaces every 12 months with a suitable weather-resistant stain or coating to protect it from any potential adverse weather or storage conditions which can cause moisture or mould to accumulate and damage the units. Please note the connectors/mallet may arrive separately.
Decent once you know what to expect. The shelves do NOT come with a mallet, even though it says it does. That was an immediate annoyance, alright to be fair you don't really need one - whacking the bits with your fist will do it.
The instructions are mostly good, but there's a few sections which are vague - almost as if a bit is missing (even though there's not). A few of the diagrams such as the mid-shelf strut is confusing, the wording makes sense but the drawing doesn't match up with what bits you have.
Best advice, build the shelves EXTREMELY close to where you want them - don't expect to be able to move them because if you try to lift even the bottom half up, parts will start dropping off or detaching. When you secure the lower/upper right angle fixings, the manual says to just "slot them in" but you'll want to use a screwdriver to bend those too, only slightly so they're more locked in position than just "sitting".
The shelves are pretty unstable until the wooden shelves go in but once you load them up with more weight, they become more stable.
Overall they do the cheap, I only needed a few sets of cheap shelves for 6 months as temporary storage and at approx £50 a unit you can't really complain.. Lawrence. Essex. Thu Jan 18 2024
