Yes I was aware that it had to be assembled by me. I broke a piece of plastic which has affected the way that the lid hinge operates. I like the looks of it. Had it been assembled properly prior to being received by me it would have been worth the money. I just found it awkward to assemble. Lid hinge arrangement cheap and nasty. Always looking for another deck box for storage of my cushions and pillows of my patio. This one was priced really well so I thought I would go for it. It wasn’t too hard to put together, but I did find that it is a bit on the light side so I will have to weight it down so that the wind doesn’t move it around over the winter. Because you cannot pile anything on top of it. I did find for easier assembly that the last rod needed to be connected in the middle rather than the corner pieces. Since I haven’t put it outside yet in harsh weather, I’m not sure if it is truly waterproof and will hold its shape….this is why I gave it a four star rating rather than five.. Househuntress. Slight issue with stretching the material over the supports but after the sun heated the material it finally rolled into place. I wish the closure was with loops rather than velcro.
