I seen several others using this chair for dining. So that's exactly what we did. Bought 2 of the red. Took about a week delivery from Mississippi to Seattle. Box's were a little tired but chairs were fine. The quality and engineering excellent. Very comfortable sitting. I put them together myself & have a hint for you. Test each screw before assembly. Don't tighten connections until all screws started. That's so you'll be able to wiggle parts to line up holes. I Compare them to a regular Captain's dining chair. Very good value. I’ve given this 4 stars as a part was damaged on arrival. However, it wasn’t a significant part so I didn’t complain. I was happy to receive the chair a week earlier than expected, though I still had to wait 2 weeks but given there must be lots of homeworkers wanting chairs due to covid, I didn’t mind. The instructions were pretty basic with no writing at all, just pictures, but I managed to figure it all and assemble on my own. There were no instructions for the levers in that to raise the seat level, you have to stand up first. The backrest moves backwards when you move the lever but doesn’t lock into position.
