I purchased this as we had an inset woodburner installed last year and, because (our existing outbuilding was already full of other clutter - yeah, I know, how does that happen?) we needed additional space to store fuel to see us through the colder months. This was delivered considerately by a decent chap, he even made sure it was placed somewhere easy for me to unpack yet away from prying eyes. I decided to give it a coat of garden paint in advance, then assembled it a day later. Took me an afternoon to do this but very simple, instructions are a doddle, and everything you need is there. Helps if you have someone to lend a hand to get the panels secured upright but can be done on your Todd if you are savvy enough. Just make sure you construct on a firm flat surface and face it so the back is to the prevailing wind. We managed to fit 1.8 cubic metres of kiln dried split logs inside with room to spare and it showed no signs of stress on the structure. I fitted waterproof groundsheet to cover the front against any driving rain (roll up/drop down wrapped around a garden stake) and moisture getting into the wood. The panels and fittings feel durable, and once assembled the box feels stable and weather-resistant. Assembly took my daughter and me about two hours from start to finish. All the pieces fit together well and the instructions are clear, so the actual construction was straightforward. However, the panels arrived without pre-punched holes, so we had to drill every single hole ourselves. That was the most time-consuming part and added extra effort and noise if you don’t have power tools or someone to help, it would be much tougher. Other than the drilling, everything else went smoothly the hinges, lid alignment and locking points lined up, and the finished product opens and closes without issue. For the price it feels like good value — attractive, practical storage that should stand up to normal outdoor use — as long as you’re prepared for a bit of DIY work up front.
