This is the best design of this kind of chest I have seen, so I am convincing myself it is part of its character. This unusual and elaborate chest is made from mango wood. The interesting exterior and the wood give this compact piece of furniture a shine. The natural raw material wood is a by-product of the mango harvest and has been reworked, revealing a vintage effect. Abrasions on the surface as well as holes that have been added to resemble worm holes give the chest its own charm. Quirky and very pretty. However, the top part had a narrow crack half way the width of the chest, which indicates that the quality of the wood does not reflect the price. Also, one of the corner joints was slightly damaged. It came from Germany, but as it was super wrapped and had great protection, I do not think the damage happen during transit. I feel the quality of the wood was the problem. A friend is going to repair the top and the damaged joint because I do not want to wait weeks for a replacement.
