There were a few dent spots but for the price it is pretty sturdy. There was a mistake in the instruction but we were able to make it right . There are some splinters coming off the corners of the slats so we might want to use sand paper to let it smooth out to avoid kids getting splinter if whoever sleeping on the bottom side happen to run her hand or arm through it..
