While overall the product is excellent, there was some damage to some posts on delivery. There were also 3 missing poles making the connection of the tarp impossible. However very prompt customer service to a high standard were able to support me with a solution although the whole experience was highly inconvenient. Turned out nice. Had this professionally installed and mounted the post in concrete blocks to give more stability. The metal pieces itself is lightweight aluminum but when connected together it’s sturdy. Only gripe are the shade connector poles. Their means of connecting could be improved because they slide off & disconnect from one another every now & then but so far holds up well with rain when shade is pulled back. We were looking for a free standing awning to shade one side of our 3m x 3m pergola. This awning was the perfect answer. A couple of cable ties to hold it in place and the job was done! Construction was straightforward BUT you have to have the winding mechanism on the left.
