This is a great desk for the price…. As long as you can manage realistic expectations. It took me around two hours to build solo… it’s pretty straightforward and all of the holes are pre-drilled so it’s easy to line it all up. The wood looks pretty, as long as you don’t look too closely, because then you can see the scuffs. At the end of the day, it’s cheap veneered wood and that’s reflected in the price… but it does the job and looks to be a higher spec quality than it is. The instructions are mostly easy to follow, but there is an error around parts 4 on the drawer section and it took me a while to work out why it didn’t fit. As a consequence, the back didn’t line up properly… it’s not a dealbreaker, but it was a time suck and frustrating. All in all, I would recommend this desk. I mean apologies for an already cluttered desk, it was for my teenage son. This desk is very sturdy and easy to put together (an older brother 17 did it). He needed a desk for more room, gaming and study and this desk provides it all. The only downside is that the base unit from his PC was too long to fit on the shelf (bottom right). The Haefner secretary desk with hutch is a practical and particularly space-saving workspace. With its shallow depth, it ensures the best use of space, e.g. in a corridor. The large worktop can be folded down gently thanks to two high-pressure dampers. Behind the door are a practical laptop compartment and a storage shelf. Side pockets, which are also suitable for a PC, and shelves behind the worktop expand the storage space of the Haefner.

Really like this desk. It does indeed take 2 people and a few hours to assemble, but it is cleverly designed to fit in a small space. If possible it'd be rated 4.5 because additional materials to bracket it to the wall are not included. I am pretty delighted with the finished product… but what an absolute ball-ache to put together! It’s fine until you get to the drawer unit, then it’s a bit of a guessing game as the instructions are next to useless. Got there in the end so all’s well that ends well I guess. As an aside, pretty disappointed that this desk is so much cheaper if you buy direct (see Daals website - I looked it up when it arrived and I could see from the box where it came from).
